【摘要】:Thistestmethodisoftenusedtodeterminebulkdensityvaluesthatarenecessaryforuseformanymethodsofselectingproportionsforconcretemixtures.Thebulkdensityalsomaybeusedfordeterminingmass/volumerelationshipsforconversionsinpurchaseagreements.However,therelationshipbetweendegreeofcompactionofaggregatesinahaulingunitorstockpileandthatachievedinthistestmethodisunknown.Further,aggregatesinhaulingunitsandstockpilesusuallycontainabsorbedandsurfacemoisture(thelatteraffectingbulking),whilethistestmethoddeterminesthebulkdensityonadrybasis.Aprocedureisincludedforcomputingthepercentageofvoidsbetweentheaggregateparticlesbasedonthebulkdensitydeterminedbythistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofbulkdensity(x201C;unitweightx201D;)ofaggregateinacompactedorloosecondition,andcalculatedvoidsbetweenparticlesinfine,coarse,ormixedaggregatesbasedonthesamedetermination.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoaggregatesnotexceeding125mm[5in.]innominalmaximumsize.Note18212;Unitweightisthetraditionalterminologyusedtodescribethepropertydeterminedbythistestmethod,whichisweightperunitvolume(morecorrectly,massperunitvolumeordensity).1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard,asappropriateforaspecificationwithwhichthistestmethodisused.Anexceptioniswithregardtosievesizesandnominalsizeofaggregate,inwhichtheSIvaluesarethestandardasstatedinSpecificationE11.Withinthetext,inch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
