【摘要】:Axiallyloadedtensionspecimensprovideoneofthemostversatilemethodsofperformingastress-corrosiontestbecauseoftheflexibilitypermittedinthechoiceoftypeandsizeoftestspecimen,stressingprocedures,andrangeofstresslevels.Theuniaxialstresssystemissimple;hence,thistestmethodisoftenusedforstudiesofstress-corrosionmechanisms.Thistypeoftestisamenabletothesimultaneousexposureofunstressedspecimens(noappliedload)withstressedspecimensandsubsequenttensiontestingtodistinguishbetweentheeffectsoftruestresscorrosionandmechanicaloverload(2).AdditionalconsiderationsinregardtothesignificanceofthetestresultsandtheirinterpretationaregiveninSections6and10.Widevariationsintestresultsmaybeobtainedforagivenmaterialandspecimenorientationwithdifferentspecimensizesandstressingprocedures.Thisconsiderationissignificantespeciallyinthestandardizationofatestprocedureforinterlaboratorycomparisonsorqualitycontrol.1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresfordesigning,preparing,andusingASTMstandardtensiontestspecimensforinvestigatingsusceptibilitytostress-corrosioncracking.Axiallyloadedspecimensmaybestressedquantitativelywithequipmentforapplicationofeitheraconstantload,constantstrain,orwithacontinuouslyincreasingstrain.1.2Tensiontestspecimensareadaptablefortestingawidevarietyofproductformsaswellaspartsjoinedbywelding,riveting,orvariousothermethods.1.3Theexposureofspecimensinacorrosiveenvironmentistreatedonlybrieflybecauseotherstandardsarebeingpreparedtodealwiththisaspect.Meanwhile,theinvestigatorisreferredtoPracticesG35,G36,G37,andG44,andtoASTMSpecialTechnicalPublication425().
