MIL-STD-299, MILITARY STANDARD: VISUAL INSPECTION STANDARDS FOR NAILED WOOD BOXES AND WIREBOUND WOOD BOXES USED IN SMALL ARMS AMMUNITION (17 JAN 1957) [SUPERSEDES ORD-SIP-S321]., This standard provides illustrations and procedures for determining and evaluating defects normally found in nailed wood packing boxes and wirebound packing boxes used as shipping and storage containers for small arms ammunition and the standard shall be used as a supplement to pertinent specifications.
